POSITION OVERVIEW

The AVP of Human Resources is responsible for leading a team of HR professionals to support the overall business strategies of Combined Canada. This role requires a proven HR generalist who can provide counsel and advice to the Senior Management Team on all aspects of human resources including organizational design, change management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, staffing, talent management and succession planning. This position will report to the Managing Director of Combined Canada and to the SVP of Human Resources for Combined Insurance.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Support the delivery of business results by ensuring that the HR staff are fully engaged and are properly aligned with critical business objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management
  • Manage a team of 5 HR staff (Sr. HRBP, HRBP, HR Coordinator, Benefits Manager, Training Manager)
  • Manage all pension, benefits and compensation processes
  • Direct and manage all corporate staff hiring
  • Ensure that all employee issues and disputes are properly handled
  • Develop and deliver leadership training to all levels of management; liaise with CICA and Chubb resources to develop specific programs as needed
  • Manage the annual compensation process including- salary surveys, merit increases, cash incentives and equity awards
  • Conduct succession planning and talent review sessions
  • Implement action plans based on Employee Engagement surveysDrive performance management processes and plans across the organization
  • Manage Salary Expense budget
  • Manage the HR budget
