As the next HR Advisor at Imperial, you will work closely with your business line as a strategic  partner to address and influence the people-related aspects of business decisions.

Core to Imperial is our focus on developing employees  through various HR roles and projects at our sites across Canada to help you reach your full potential.  As a result, we are looking for an HR professional that is drawn to the idea of developing throughout their career by progressing through a combination of assignments across the country, all aimed at providing the well-rounded development experience that Imperial offers.
 
We are seeking a recent graduate who thrives in a dynamic work environment and who can easily shift between the strategic and tactical aspects of the role.


As an HR Advisor, your responsibilities may include:

  • Advising your business partners on an array of topics from workforce and position planning, staff development, performance management, industrial relations (both union and joint industrial councils), and workplace diversity
  • Analyzing and leveraging data to positively influence business strategy and decisions
  • Consulting on workplace change management resulting from various business improvement/growth initiatives
  • Gaining a broad exposure to the development, monitoring and improvement of HR policies, practices and programs

 

Qualifications

Academic

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business/Commerce. Specializations in Human Resources is preferred. Other disciplines are considered
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application


Other

  • Recent university graduates and those with up to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to relocate to various locations across the country is an asset (relocation assistance will be provided)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently as well as with teams
  • Effective project management skills 
  • Ability to work collaborate, think analytically, take initiative, and demonstrate leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required and experience using SAP is an asset

Eligibility to work in Canada
All applicants who receive an offer of employment must be eligible to work in Canada on their start date.  Proof of eligibility shall be in the form of a Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian citizenship certificate, Canadian certificate of permanent residence, Canadian open work permit or receipt from Immigration Canada of an application for a post-graduate work permit . Proof of eligibility must be current and valid (not expired, cancelled or voided). Proof of eligibility will be required if an offer of employment is made. Failure to provide proof of eligibility at least six (6) weeks prior to the start date may result in the offer of employment being rescinded.
