The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board offers dynamic, high quality educational programs for nearly 33,000 elementary, secondary and adult students in the 100 schools within our jurisdiction.  As part of our strategy to provide on-going support for our schools, the Board is now accepting resumes from qualified applicants for the full-time position of Human Resources Specialist, Organizational Development.

In this exciting new position, you will provide support to initiatives and programs that enhance organization effectiveness in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, staff development, employee engagement, and performance management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to Organizational Development initiatives including onboarding, staff development, employee engagement, and performance management initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate staff training sessions related to Organizational Development initiatives in a variety of formats including classroom and online.
  • Create and maintain effective tracking processes and tools for Organizational Development initiatives in appropriate software applications including performance and learning management systems.
  • Communicate training and performance development requirements to managers and principals.
  • Administration of performance management programs and processes for designated client groups.
  • Administration of orientation programs, staff training and leadership development for designated client groups.
  • Provide project management and business process support to Organizational Development initiatives.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding staff development, employee engagement, organizational position control, salary administration, and performance management.
  • Support collection of employee feedback surveys related to Organizational Development initiatives.
  • Support maintenance of accurate organizational charts and job descriptions.
  • Prepare reports on compliance with training requirements and completion of performance appraisal processes for respective client groups.
  • Collaborate across HR functions to achieve strategic priorities and provide integrated HR solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate (i.e. university, college or technical training) completed in Human Resource Management, or equivalent education.
  • Human Resources Management Designation (CHRP or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • One to three years of related experience working in a progressive Human Resources environment (public sector environment is preferred).

Specialized Skills Required:

  • Advanced level skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, report writer and human resource information systems.
  • Experience using Visio would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and employee engagement concepts.
  • Experience with the delivery of training and instructional programs in a broad array of mediums, including instructor-led, online and multimedia training formats.
  • Managing compensation programs.
  • Knowledge of performance management and appraisal programs, methods and metrics.
  • A commitment to service excellence.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills as well as ability to function as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
