Senior Advisor, Human Resources (fourteen-month contract)

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will be responsible for the provision of HR services and support for the Copper group of Glencore Canada Corp (GCC).  You will support the BU HR common systems & business strategy through the development and execution of HR policy, processes, programs and best practice. 

You will provide guidance to manage workplace programs and initiatives, organizational effectiveness, change management and legislative impacts in order to support a culture of performance and the entrepreneurship of our people, while optimizing flexibility and productivity to achieve our business plan.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in HR Management or equivalent
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal; strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships and maintain a high level of discretion
  • Demonstrated skills and experience advising, guiding, educating and supporting leaders in managing their people and strategic business objectives
  • A thorough knowledge of employment related legislation (Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity Act, Human Rights Code etc.)
  • Experience working with an HRIS system and proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Comfort with ambiguity and minimal direction
  • French verbal and written competency a definite asset
