Part Time Human Resources Assistant (4 days per week)

POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting to the reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the Human Resources Assistant will have a strong focus on various HR Administrative duties and full-cycle recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to start or continue development of their HR career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support recruitment efforts as needed: job postings, sourcing resumes, conducting phone pre-screens, arranging interviews, participating on interview panel, conducting reference checks
  • Maintaining employee files and provides administrative support to HR team 
  • Tracking, documenting, and ensuring all applicable paperwork and systems updates are completed for organizational changes, i.e. position transfers/promotions/ new hires
  • Responsible for tracking yearly Performance Evaluation, Mandatory Training, and CPI Training and Recertification
  • Assists in planning Employee Recognition Events 
  • Administers Uniforms to Unionized staff 
  • Compiling reports to support HR and Managers 
  • Responsible for assisting with quarterly  HR metrics 
  • Take minutes for the Joint Health & Safety Meetings
  • Participating in the HR projects 
  • Attend career fairs to represent the Hospital when required 
  • First point of contact for HR department 
  • Assisting with new hire orientations and onboarding 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Post-secondary degree/certificate program in Human Resources Management, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience as an HR Coordinator/Assistant 
  • Experience with HRIS 
  • Excellent computer skills and strong  knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills 
  • Proactive, results oriented and highly attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience interpreting Collective Agreements in Health Care Setting as asset
