What is the Senior Manager of Learning and Development?
Based out of the GoodLife Corporate Home Office in London, Ontario, the Senior Manager of Learning and Development is responsible for leading a team of Learning and Development Professionals. The Manager of Learning and Development demonstrates leadership, support and development to maintain and continually improve performance within their team and departments in GoodLife. This role is responsible for tracking and reporting KPI metrics to measure and demonstrate the achievement of the L&D function to the strategic focuses of the organization.

What will you be doing?

• Lead a team of Learning and Development Professionals, while promoting an environment where owners, subject matter experts, and project coordinators respectfully collaborate across departments on learning and project initiatives.
• Strategic execution of Learning and Development needs of the organization; ensuring learning begins within the Learning and Development department following organizational processes and procedures.
• Forecast and analyze work resources for upcoming strategic focus projects/initiatives involving learning components or changes to existing learning.
• Inspect and approve learning design principles and tools (job aids, PowerPoint presentations, on the job activities) and eLearning builds for execution of storyboard concepts to live training materials.
• Liaise with Marketing and Communication (and all Departments necessary) for consistency in branding of learning.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of the organization.
• Track and report KPI metrics against targets as related to Learning and Development.
• Lead department calls.
• Conduct monthly goal setting and development calls; weekly project management calls with direct reports.
• Hold team accountable to job functions, and day to day work.

Do you have what it takes?

• Degree or diploma in Adult Learning, Adult Education.
• Designation/Certification Canadian Society of Training and Development.
• 5+ years in Learning and Development as facilitator and instructional designer with eLearning/animation design experience.
• 2-3 years as a Learning and Development Manager or similar role.
• In depth knowledge of Learning and Development strategies within the industry.
• Track record of developing and managing high volume of Learning and Development projects and initiatives.
• Proficient and effective interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
• Strong business acumen understanding the organizations strategic focuses/initiatives and aligning Learning and Development to achieve those initiatives.
• Proven leadership and management experience to hire, train, develop, coach, motivate, and lead a team of highly influential, effective, and efficient Learning Professionals.

Proficiency in the use of computers for:

• goAnimate software.
• Articulate Storyline platform.
• Videography/Photography authoring and editing tools.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange).
• Office 365 (OneNote, OneDrive, Groups), Skype for Business.
