Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is a non-profit organization serving seniors in the Greater Toronto Area. Yee Hong delivers a continuum of high quality, culturally appropriate services to enable seniors to live their lives to the fullest - in the healthiest, most independent and dignified ways. Thousands of seniors of various cultural backgrounds benefit from our long-term care, senior housing, medical and rehabilitation services and community-based programs every day. Yee Hong operates a total of 805 long-term care beds at four sites. We are currently constructing a Scarborough Hospice and also advancing applications to the government for two additional LTC homes. The Position

A member of the Corporate Human Resources team, reporting to the Chief of HR and Organizational Development, you’ll provide human resources advisory services to an assigned portfolio, in alignment with the organization’s HR strategies and programs. Responsibilities include employee/labour relations, employee engagement, learning & development, perfomance management, culture/change management, claims & disability management, and coaching/advisory services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources Management, or equivalent; working towards completion of CHRP
  • Three to five years related HR experience in a unionized work environment
  • Knowledge of best HR practices, change management principles and employment legislation
  • Effective communication, report-writing and presentation skills in English; knowledge of Cantonese and/or Mandarin an asset
  • Strong organizational, time management, research and policy development skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, plus understanding of HRIS/HCM systems
  • Strong interpersonal and team-work skills
  • Superior consultation skills and service excellence approach
  • Ability to travel between Centres as required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Police Check (with vulnerable sector screen) result
