We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who has proven experience in end to end Benefits Administration, encompassing excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Our environment is fast paced and ever changing, the successful candidate will possess a solid track record as it relates to proven time-management and multi-tasking skills while working both independently and as a team member.
Main Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle benefit administration (to include, but not limited to employee enrollment, on-going system maintenance, disability management, Leave of Absence, terminations, severances, etc.)
- First point of contact in handling and troubleshooting all North American benefit inquiries
- Work in conjunction with the carrier and broker during annual contract negotiations and premium renewals
- Manage the annual North American Open Enrollment process
- Assist with the maintenance and testing of the HRIS and other systems, maintenance of the employee benefits intranet site, and with benefits and wellness initiatives
- Handle the monthly benefits billing and reconciliation process in conjunction with the Finance department
- Handle all benefit updates (Plans; premium changes; and communication updates to the employee population)
- Responsible for compliance requirements as it relates to COBRA administration and the Affordable Care Act reporting (Employees & IRS)
- Handles all benefit updates provided by the benefit broker and/or carrier as well as legislative changes
- Responsible for providing recommendations to the HR team and Senior Management on identification of gaps or enhancements to the benefits platform
- Responsible for managing leave of absence and disability management program
Education & Experience:
- University Degree/College Diploma with a focus on Human Resources or equivalent stream
- Minimum of 3 years Human Resources experience with a focus on Benefits & Disability Management
- CHRP and/or CEBS designation preferred
Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in benefit carrier systems and HR systems (ideally Workday)
- Experience / knowledge with all elements and compliance requirements associated with the Affordable Care Act
- 2 + years of experience with previous Group Employee benefits administration
- Effective time management/ detail oriented, and strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and US benefits and Disability Management best practices, multi-provincial employment legislation and excellent research and problem solving abilities
- Adapts well to change and proven problem solving skills while working under pressure
- Advanced knowledge of excel skills
