Description: This job is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the Benefits, Pensions, and Payroll functions at the University. The incumbent provides strategic and technical advice and expertise to senior administrators and HR Professionals to ensure that Benefits, Pensions, and Payroll policies and practices are consistent with the University’s mission of excellence. The incumbent oversees continuous payroll, pension, and benefit process design and improvement, and will lead a team of subject matter experts in these areas.
EDUCATION: University degree required (human resources, business administration, finance or accounting preferred) plus the completion of related professional development work, such as CHRP and CPM, CEBS or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum ten (10) years of progressively senior human resources experience with an in-depth specialization in benefits, pensions and Payroll functions within a multi-employee group, decentralized environment. Ability to develop a strategic vision, values and goals for the department, to ensure that priorities are established and those goals are met. Experience in an HR shared service environment an asset. Working knowledge of HRIS systems and technology bases solutions that support strategic HR initiatives.
SKILLS: Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet application; PowerPoint for presentations
