Description: Based in Kuujjuaq, Quebec, the Human Resources Advisor is responsible for providing key generalist support in all aspects of the employment relationship for both employees and managers within assigned client groups within Nunavik. The incumbent acts as the primary point of contact for clients, and is accountable for carrying out moderately complex human resources related duties at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in the various functional areas, including employee / labour relations, payroll, recruitment, training, compliance, benefits and compensation administration. The HR Advisor also supports and ensures issues are followed through to resolution in accordance with KRG policy and/or collective agreements. This individual will have the passion and capability to foster an environment that reflects the organization's vision and values.
Who Can Apply: Applicants should possess a College Diploma in Human Resources, or Bachelor Degree or graduate degree (in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Organizational Development) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as a HR generalist, preferably in a unionized environment. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is preferred.
The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills combined with an ability to adjust communication style for the audience. Must be a strategic thinker and have the ability to invite diverse perspectives, promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity. Must have demonstrated initiative and a willingness to be a team player, be extremely reliable, and able to work independently and under pressure. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to maintain a high degree of tact and discretion.
English is the working language although the ability to communicate effectively in French or Inuktitut would also be an asset.
Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and in accordance with the KRG Management Salary Grid.
Location: Kuujjuaq, Quebec
Duration: Two (2) year term position with possibility of extension.
