The Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) delivers public safety services on behalf of the government of Ontario in four key sectors: Boilers and Pressure Vessels and Operating Engineers; Elevating Devices, Amusement Devices and Ski Lifts; Fuels; and Upholstered and Stuffed Articles. As a not-for-profit established in 1997, TSSA is a self-funded organization that is governed by a Board of Directors and employs a dedicated staff of approximately 400 employees.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice-President, Human Resources (VPHR) is a key member of TSSA’s executive team, providing strategic counsel and direction on all matters relating to human capital. The VPHR provides organizational leadership in TSSA’s on-going business transformation initiatives as a modern regulator. To this end, the VPHR will define and implement innovative HR programs and services which reflect best practices and respond to evolving operational, client, and workforce needs.
As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced executive and an engaged partner who has led the HR function as a Vice-President or Senior Director in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Your sound knowledge of the complete range of modern HR management, governance principles, and best practices will serve you well in this role. Your enterprise-wide view, highly strategic and inclusive approach, along with your ability to leverage relationships, and inspire client-focused teams have been instrumental in your success guiding organizations through transformative change. You have a way with people and are known for fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and high performance. A relevant university education combined with a minimum of ten years of related experience is preferred as is a knowledge of various HRIS offerings.
