Human Resources Business Partner

The Agronomy Company of Canada owns The AGROMART Group franchise and operates out of Belton, Ontario, 20 km northeast of London, Ontario. Through the franchise arrangement, the company provides specific services for the AGROMART locations. This includes providing volume purchases of crop nutrients, crop protection products, seed etc., to minimize cost positions and capitalize on various operational and supplier efficiencies. Other services provided to Agromarts include training, group insurance and administration of group benefits, financial services including credit, banking, accounting, auditing and income tax services. The Agronomy Company also plays an important role in interpreting regulatory standards and developing guidelines for use by individual retail locations, to assist in the protection of the environment and the health and safety of all employees. Shares of The Agronomy Company of Canada are owned by La Coop fédérée of Quebec.

CHALLENGES WE OFFER

Reporting to the General Manager, the HR Business Partner:

Acts as an HR Business Partner to the AGROMART Group and ACC to ensure the alignment of HR strategies to support the achievement of business priorities and the strategic HR projects;

Partner with the AGROMART Group leaders to deliver HR services such as workforce planning, organizational development, talent management and change management;

Partner with the AGROMART Group leaders and ACC leaders to develop succession planning strategies;

Provide HR guidance to AGROMART Group leaders on different HR subject such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training and development, performance management, health and wellness, compensation and recognition;

Acts as an HR Business Partner to the ACC leaders and employees on various employment-related issues including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training and development, performance management, health and wellness, compensation and recognition and change management;

Work with leaders to ensure an engaged workforce and retain talent;

Support the implementation of HR programs and processes such as performance and compensation management, leadership development, talent reviews, recruitment and onboarding, health and safety, and employee development;

Act as a change agent for best practices in the delivery of human resources solutions;

Partner with La Coop fédérée (LCF) HR team including HR business partners to ensure alignment of HR services across functions;

Partner with LCF HR subject matter experts to develop and deliver effective HR solutions designed to meet the business challenges and priorities of the organization;

Build strong relationships with AGROMART Group, ACC leaders, employees and LCF HR team.

This position requires frequent travel across Ontario and Québec.

YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE

7-10 years of experience in a similar role paired with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources;

Demonstrated consulting and coaching skills - able to effectively build relationships by establishing trust and credibility;

Demonstrated agility – comfortable with ambiguity and quick-pace change, able to methodically work through complex problems, set priorities and execute on commitments;

Willingness and ability to learn and understand the business you support and frame HR issues and concerns in an overall business context;

Strong understanding of employment legislation in Ontario;

CHRP designation is an asset.
