Reporting to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards, the Compensation Analyst will assist in the planning, implementation and administration of HOOPP’s compensation programs. More specifically, the Analyst will manage annual compensation survey submissions and the review and analysis of survey results. The Analyst will collect, compile and analyse data for various adhoc and regular reports, assist in the forecasting and budgeting process, and assist with year-end compensation activities.

Duties and Responsibilities 

•The participation, collection and communication of annual compensation survey data. This information is collected to assist in the analysis and recommendation of salaries as requested by the HR Business Partners or recruitment teams
•Supporting Compensation with day-to-day activities, such as job evaluations, compensation reviews, collection of data, analysis of information and creation of reports that support both business and Board reporting needs
•Assisting in the roll out, administration, and communication of the annual incentive and merit review process
•Supporting the budgeting & forecasting process
•Assisting in the collection, analysis and reporting of data for regular and adhoc reports
•Assisting with testing of changes to existing technology solutions and new technology solutions implemented to support Compensation activities
•Research and analyse the impact of policy and legislative changes on the organization and provide options for consideration
•Assist in the job evaluation and salary recommendation process
•Assist with testing, analysis and implementation of new HR/Compensation systems
•Research, analyse and advise on the impact of changes to compensation policies and guidelines to ensure consistency throughout the organization
•Assist with annual incentive programs and merit increase adjustments, including communication
•Manage the participation and collection of compensation and benefits data on an annual basis.
•Provide updated market and employee data for upload into compensation tool(s)
•Assist in the preparation of adhoc and regular reports for the Governance & HR Committee, as well as any supporting materials
•Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of data and metrics; prepare ad-hoc reports, dashboards and presentations as required
•Assist with quarterly budget and forecast activities

Qualifications and Skills 

•Completion of a relevant university degree
•CCP or CHRM designation completed or in progress
•CEBS designation is an asset
•Five years of relevant experience in compensation and or benefits
•Demonstrated multi-tasking, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
•Proven ability to make concise recommendations in objective consideration of legal and regulatory as well as organizational factors
•Able to work independently and with others
Knowledge of HR principles and procedures
•Clear understanding of employment laws and regulatory systems and requirements
•Skills in a Windows environment (using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•Excellent written and oral communication
•Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
