Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario and our goal is to create a transportation network that enhances the prosperity, sustainability and quality of life for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. We lead planning in the region with a Regional Transportation Plan that guides the work and investments of the organization. This includes building light transit, bus rapid transit and Regional Express Rail, as well as operating GO Transit, UP Express and PRESTO.

Our Strategic Talent Management Office is seeking two Senior Organizational Development & Learning Consultants to provide expertise, leadership, support and guidance in the day-to-day operations and planning for Organizational Development & Learning (ODL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive initiatives that support Organizational Development & Learning (e.g. learning and development, leadership development, succession management, performance management, competency development, and employee recognition).
  • Assist the Manager, Organizational Development & Learning to develop and implement programs designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Develop strategies to engage, retain and develop top talent throughout the organization; evaluate the effectiveness of ODL programs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to support and guide ODL initiatives to ensure promotion of Metrolinx’s vision, mission, values, strategic priorities and organizational objectives.
  • Consult with Directors and Managers on ODL matters.
  • Works with Manager, Organizational Development & Learning to leverage technology solutions that support the Talent Management strategy and plan.
  • Select, modify and design interventions that move the organization from its current state to its desired future state, using strategies that address root causes or performance gaps; identifies improvement opportunities and innovative approached for the ODL function.
  • Support the development of an internal consulting format for the ODL group.

Qualifications:       

  • Completion of a university degree in Human Resources Management or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum six (6) years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation and additional courses in Organizational Development would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment would be beneficial.
