We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full time Staffing Officer – Recruitment & Retention to be a part of our Human Resources Support Services team.   Reporting to the Manager–Support Staff, the Staffing Officer will perform duties as assigned such as providing leadership, advice and support with respect to administering and interpreting support staff and administrative support group contract agreements as it pertains to staffing, recruitment and retention programs.  Responsible for confidential personnel files for support staff and dealing with personnel matters, correspondence and inquires.  Responsible for administrative duties relating to personnel matters such as salary, qualifications, staffing, seniority, training, mentoring, growth planning and performance appraisal.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Three-year post-secondary diploma in human resources required, and Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation from HRPA preferred. Over two years of related experience with recruitment, interviewing, employee retention programs and application of multi-union collective agreement provisions required, preferably in a school board environment; strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and time management/organization skills are required; ability to maintain discretion with confidential information; and working knowledge of relevant employment legislation (ie Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights, AODA, and MFIPPA) is required.
