Temporary HR Assocaite
Reporting to the Manager of HR, the HR Associate is accountable for the end to end recruitment and selection process of part-time staff (includes summer staff hiring). As the successful candidate, you will create online job postings using an applicant tracking system (Taleo), review and select appropriate candidates, coordinate and conduct interviews, conduct reference check, prepare job offer letters for successful candidates and send notification to unsuccessful candidates. In addition, you will coordinate the Town's Long Service Luncheon and update employee data in the HRIS.
Your degree in Human Resources Management, is complemented with current experience in the full recruitment process and a CHRP/L designation or equivalent combination of education and experience. Success in the role calls for demonstrated skills in organization, multi-tasking and attention to detail. Your knowledge of applicable employment related legislation, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. Experience in the municipal sector and in a unionized environment is considered an asset. The successful candidate will also be proficient in the Microsoft Office environment; have experience with Taleo or a similar applicant tracking system and experience using HRIS systems. Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with clean driver's abstract and the ability to provide a current criminal reference check that is satisfactory to the Town.
Normal hours of work are thirty-five (35) hours per week, usually Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., however, there is an occasional requirement to work outside of normal hours and days to conduct interviews.
