This is a 12 month contract position.

We think innovatively and strategically to solve business problems and strive for operational efficiency and simplicity in the employee experience with HR. The Compensation Specialist provides input, analysis, support and recommendations from a compensation perspective. This role focuses on the implementation and continuous improvement of existing compensation policies, programs, processes and tools that align with and support our Total Rewards Philosophy and Business Strategy.

What you’re responsible for:

  • Complete job evaluation documentation, information gathering, analysis, and consultation for Individual Contributor roles.

  • Create and update job profiles and job codes.

  • Provide input for system configuration changes and complete testing after changes have been made.

  • Complete data preparation, updates and uploads for the compensation administration system.

  • Prepare and audit final files for HR Shared Services.

  • Respond to management or HR inquiries to ensure understanding and compliance to guidelines, procedures, and system issues.

  • Complete annual market compensation survey submissions.

  • Provide input and recommendations for new or revised compensation policies/guidelines.

To join our team:

  • Completion of Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Psychology, or Sociology with 3 years of experience in Human Resources, some of which is directly in compensation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Completed or in the process of completing at least one of the following designations/certifications: Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

  • Working knowledge of job evaluation theory, processes and tools.

  • Familiarity with compensation practices and principles such as job evaluation and market analysis.

  • Familiarity with compensation related legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity, etc.)
