Storefront Humber is a non-profit, charitable, health and social services agency located in south Etobicoke. For over thirty years, we have been improving the lives of seniors and adults living with disabilities by assisting them to live independently at home. Storefront Humber Inc. is seeking five candidates to join its Board of Directors, which is responsible for governance and provides strategic leadership. Directors are volunteers who serve without remuneration. They are elected for a 2-year term and must attend monthly Board meetings (typically nine meetings annually), and sit on one Board committee. The monthly time commitment averages 10-15 hours. More information on the oversight and fiduciary duties is in included with the application.
While board experience is desirable, we are looking for individuals who bring at least one of these specific skills and experiences:
- A Human Resources professional with a recognized designation (CHRL or CHRE preferred)
- A lawyer with corporate experience
- A healthcare professional with Quality frameworks and Accreditation knowledge/experience
- An individual with community engagement and social/health services sector knowledge
Members of the Board will interview selected applicants during the month of April and prepare a slate of candidates for election at the June 2019 Annual General Meeting.
