About the role

Under the supervision of the Director, Human Resources and Organizational Development, the Senior Organizational Development Advisor delivers expert human resources management services to directors, managers and employees in the areas of organizational development including policy writing, human resources management program development, change management, organizational design, onboarding, orientation and succession planning.

As the Senior Organizational Development Advisor, you will:

  • conduct research and analysis
  • be responsible for the performance management program and the corporate training and development strategy;
  • develop and delivers training programs or coordinate their delivery;
  • facilitate group discussions;
  • research and makes recommendations for new and revised Human Resources and Organizational Development programs;
  • identify, recommend and harmonize policies, processes deploys best practices to promote employee engagement strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness;
  • undertake and lead projects related to the work of Human Resources Management and reports on Human Resources and Organizational Development activities
  • and performs other related duties

The duties of this position require the direct supervision of one (1) employee.

This position is located in Ottawa.

Requirements of the position Education

  • An undergraduate degree in human resources or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience related to the responsibilities of the position
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset

Experience

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in areas related to this position
  • Experience in providing advice on change management and performance management
  • Experience in policy or program development
  • Experience in organizational development, and project management
  • Experience in testing, evaluation, documentation and delivery of a variety of training solutions with a focus in adult learning
  • Experience in the development and design of a variety of training solutions with a focus in adult learning, an asset

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, and practice of human resources management including change management, organizational development practices, learning and development methodologies, policy and program development and performance management
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of emerging Human Resources management trends and challenges
  • Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Official Language and Employment Equity Act

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent leadership skills that engages various stakeholders
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to find creative solutions and develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • High level of personal integrity, tact and judgment

Bilingual Requirements

  • This position requires the use of both official languages. The requirements in the second official language are: an advanced level in oral, in reading comprehension and in writing.
