The Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) is a customer-oriented organization located in downtown Ottawa. The organization’s mandate is to review and resolve consumer and small business telecom and TV complaints after interaction between the complainant and the service provider has failed to produce a satisfactory outcome.

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will partner with the HR Manager and CCTS management team to develop, oversee, and actively implement HR strategies required to drive results and meet organizational goals. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in full cycle recruitment by posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, administering testing, conducting reference checks, and preparing offers
  • Update and maintain various HR documentation including the Employee Manual and the Manager’s Guide
  • Formalize the CCTS HR Onboarding program through the creation of process and procedure documentation, check lists and work flow
  • Coordinate and deliver HR onboarding for all new employees
  • Assist in the development of HR metrics tracking systems and reports as well as other data tracking tools
  • Develop/refine an HR filing system, soft and hard copies, ensuring all information is up-to-date
  • Coordinate and schedule individual and group training, professional development, and team building activities
  • Respond to day-to-day HR related questions from employees
  • Support managers and employees with less complex employee relations issues and concerns
  • Support the Health & Safety Committee by updating/maintaining related documentation, administering and tracking training, and working on related projects
  • Support employee performance management programs and contribute to career pathing and individual employee development initiatives
  • Administer CCTS employee benefits and pension program with providers
  • Coordinate and submit the bi-weekly payroll to ADP
  • Provide additional support and assistance in other areas of HR, Payroll and office administration as may be required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration or a related area
  • CHRP designation (or working towards) a significant asset
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a generalist human resources role, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills, bilingualism (French/English) an asset
  • Intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills.Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll requirements, including CRA payroll rules, an asset
