Centennial College is Ontario's first college of applied arts and technology. It was established in 1966 and primarily serves the eastern portion of the Greater Toronto Area through five campuses and seven satellite locations. The college is best known for its record of exemplary teaching, innovative programming, applied research, and extensive partnership building. It is in this exciting and dynamic context that Centennial College seeks to recruit a new Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development is a key member of the College’s Executive Team and contributor to the success of the institution. The position is responsible for the executive management and leadership of all people management matters affecting the close to 3,000 full and part-time employees of the College. The VP will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to HR functions such as labour relations, compensation policies and programs, the administration of the College’s $200 million annual payroll, recruiting activities, disability management, safety health and wellness and others.
As the ideal candidate, you possess extensive experience in multiple areas of human resources management. Experience in a unionized environment is essential. You have demonstrated experience enabling business strategies through the management of human capital and human resources functions. You are a collaborative, thoughtful and equitable executive who excels at providing objective, fair advice to colleagues, Boards, and staff members. You ideally hold a Master’s Degree in a relevant area and a CHRL or CHRE designation. Most importantly, you exemplify the vision of Centennial College to transform lives and communities through learning.
