Associate Director, Human Resources

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The Associate Director, Human Resources will be instrumental in leading the development and executing strategies for various programs including talent management, learning/development, and volunteer engagement.

The Associate Director will be a valued partner with business leaders across the Foundation to assess capabilities required to drive the transformation of business outcomes.

 

YOU WILL:

  • Research, recommend and implement innovative learning and development strategies to attract and retain high performance talent as well as to build employees’ skills and capacities
  • Lead and enhance talent management throughout the Foundation
  • End to end management of learning and development budgets, ensuring efficient use of Foundation money and through external vendor negotiations
  • Enhance and evolve the volunteer engagement strategy and execution through recommendations to recognize and retain high performers as well as build up our volunteers' skills and capacity
  • Develop governance policies and standards for volunteers and ensure standardized documentation are in place for the program
  • Facilitates in house training workshops
  • Provides learning advisory and thought leadership to stakeholders by identifying new and innovative learning approaches to meet business objectives
  • Develop and monitor staffing, recruitment and development plans to meet Foundation requirements
  • Provides direct leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports as well as ensure individual and team learning and development
  • Guide leaders and employees on HR and volunteer matters including recruitment, compensation issues within client portfolio
  • Develop and manage various external vendor relationships

 

YOU ARE:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related education combined with progressive Human Resources and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success building, implementing and maintaining learning and development, volunteer engagement, talent management and other various HR program strategies
  • Well versed in employment and human rights statutes and legislation
  • Strong leadership skills including project management and decision making
  • Adept at change management, stakeholder management and building effective networks within the Foundation and Hospital
  • Experience leading a team through coaching and mentoring
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills combined with knowledge of cutting-edge adult learning techniques
  • Experience with maintaining vendor relationships
  • Strategic thinker who can work independently in driving new initiatives as well as enhancing existing programs
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate in a collaborative manner with various leaders at the Foundation
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills

HOURS : 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
