Director - Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Executive Director of the Ottawa Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.. It is a senior leadership position that along with four other Directors and the Executive Director forms the Branch’s senior management team. The Director is expected to participate in the overall organizational and program development of the Branch. The Director works with other Directors, Managers and front-line staff as required. The Director provides HR leadership across all lines within the Branch by establishing strategic directions, coaching and promoting professional development. The Director is the point person for all labor relations and works respectfully and openly with the Union representing the Branch’s non-managerial and non-exempt employees. The Director leads an HR team dedicated to recruiting and supporting employees providing health services to vulnerable individuals. Responsibilities also include compliance duties with respect to Occupational Health and Safety, WSIB, AODA, Employment Standards, and Human Rights. This has involved the management of litigation and legal activities. The Director will be a listener, and a leader, with energy and curiosity, who can influence, inspire and motivate others.
