Fairhaven is an Accredited, not-for-profit 256 bed long term care municipal home, located in the City of Peterborough that is situated in the heart of the Kawartha tourism region. Position Summary
The Human Resource Generalist leads and coordinates a range of strategic and operational activities, such as Occupational Health and Wellness, Attendance Management, Training and Development, Recruitment and Selection, Benefits and Pension and Employee/Labour Relations. These responsibilities shall be carried out in accordance with Fairhaven’s mission, vision, values and leadership philosophy, policies and procedures, collective agreements and applicable legislation and regulations.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent. CHRP designation is an asset.
- Three to five years progressive experience.
- Experience with Adult Education practices preferably in a long term care environment an asset.
- Certification in Joint Health and Safety levels I and II are preferred.
- Effective in communications, problem solving, conflict resolution and presentations.
- Proven leadership, coaching and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of WHIMIS.
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Acts (OSHA, WSI Act, Human Rights Act. MHLTC Act, Accreditation standards etc)
- Ability to interpret collective agreement language.
- Proficient in a variety of computer applications, especially MS Office.
