The Learning & Development Specialist reports to the Manager of Employee Relations and Recruitment and works closely with the Organizational Development Associate to develop, implement and evaluate corporate learning and development solutions, and is a strong contributor to other strategic City of Kitchener talent and learning programs.

Responsibilities include:

Corporate Learning & Development

  • Ensuring learning programs incorporate adult learning principles

  • Program/course development (e.g. professional development, legislated training and training related to other talent management strategic programs)

  • Event management including emcee responsibilities 

  • Integrating technologies into learning solutions (e.g. online learning, m-learning) 

  • Full-cycle vendor management

  • Consulting and guiding internal customers on matters relating to learning and development and talent management

  • Program evaluation/measurement
