The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The Commission’s mandate is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair and efficient capital markets and confidence in capital markets, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk. This mandate is performed through policy, operational, adjudication and enforcement work. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development.

Human Resources and Corporate Services Branch is comprised of Human Resources, Administration, Knowledge Services, Records and Information Management, and the Business Continuity Function. The mandate of the Branch is to ensure the responsible stewardship of OSC resources, contribute to enterprise-wide workforce productivity, and lead the design and implementation of a positive employee experience.
 

The Human Resources Department provides the OSC with strategic and operational advice and services on the planning, acquisition and development of OSC talent, total compensation planning and administration, performance management and overall organization development.

Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations & Client Support, the Senior HR Business Partner will provide advice and support to assigned business units on complex human resource matters including: organization design, job evaluation, total compensation including performance pay, recruitment and onboarding, employee engagement and relations, performance management including discipline, succession management, learning and development, leadership and functional competencies.

As a highly skilled and engaged professional, you will work in a consulting partnership with client executives and managers to understand and find solutions to their human resources needs for successful business outcomes. As a senior member of the HR team you will also contribute to overall HR policy, OSC organizational development and lead or participate in projects.

You are well grounded in the fundamentals of human resources management practices and how to support them in mature organizations. You offer in-depth knowledge and experience, demonstrated success delivering strategic and operational HR consulting advice and services in a broad HR delivery environment; strong client service orientation; solutions-focused consulting skills and ability to sustain collaborative working relationships. You are a proactive professional with well-developed influencing, negotiation, interpersonal, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills. 

You have expert knowledge of legislation governing the workplace and have experience with on-line talent, recruitment, and HR information and management systems.
