Tandia Financial Credit Union (Tandia) is seeking a talented and experienced human resources professional to join our Human Resources team.

This position is located at our Hamilton Corporate office, located at 75 James Street South, Hamilton. 

Please note: this position is currently located in Hamilton, but we will be moving when our Corporate Office relocates to 3455 North Service Road in Burlington later this year.

Your Work at a Glance

As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will utilize your payroll and benefits knowledge to administer Tandia’s payroll and benefit programs.  You will ensure compliance to employment related legislation, credit union policy and the collective agreement.   

Your knowledge of provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations will guide you as you coordinate the credit union’s occupational health and safety programs and support the safety committee. 

You will be a key contributor to a variety of initiatives within the human resources department and be responsible for managing a number of resources.

You will provide support for data based decision making and be responsible for the compilation of human resources metrics.

As the coordinator of a number of recognition and reward programs, you value the importance of recognizing success and the impact recognition programs have on employee engagement.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is detail oriented, with strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Is able to work well independently, while enjoying the opportunities working in a team-based environment provides.
  • Has strong technical and software skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), human resources information systems and payroll software systems.
  • Is positive, confident and supportive with engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to keep skills/knowledge current.
  • Has a minimum of 1-2 years of payroll administration experience, including benefit administration.  
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in financial services is an asset.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
