Location: Toronto, Corporate Office (with travel to other DGC sites)
Reports to: VP, Human Resources
In this enterprise-wide role, group benefits, pension administration and compensation are overseen and strategically led. Program development, education, optimization and overall budgetary impacts are owned in this role. This is a highly collaborative role with other HR colleagues, finance and external service providers. The individual in this role is a key member of the HR leadership team and will have supervisory responsibility. The ideal candidate is currently working at the at the Manager or Director level.
As this position is privy to highly sensitive information, the utmost confidentiality and discretion is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Extended Health Benefits Programming & Administration
- Manage all aspects of the Group Benefit plan, and work with the communications team to create materials which promote and educate employees (and families) on the benefit offerings
- Troubleshoot/own exceptional cases and reach efficient and fair resolutions; provide all necessary guidance for front-line HR/People Leader support
- Oversee wellness programming, customized to support DGC employees and their needs
- Oversee Employee Family Assistance Program and ensure it meets the needs of employees and their families
Retirement Plan Programming & Administration
- Lead the governance of the Pension Plan and Support the Pension Committee Chair by ensuring all retirement savings plans and vehicles meet all legislative requirements and filing deadlines; responsible for minuting pension committee meetings and overseeing action trackers
- Manage the Group Retirement Plan administration enterprise-wide
- Prepare and manage pension financial statements and filing requirements
- Work with service providers to ensure the company and employees are receiving the greatest benefit from the plan possible and develop communication and education materials/campaigns and programs to promote the Retirement Plan
Compensation
- Oversee the design of compensation programs and benchmarking best practices to ensure both internal and external equity and create strong links between compensation programs and company objectives.
- Participate in relevant salary surveys and ensure that a database of benchmarking data is available as required
- Support development of offer letters with clear compensation guidance as part of a larger program and philosophy
- Lead summary reporting that is disclosed annually in the Management Information Circular
- Lead, in collaboration with Finance colleagues, the oversight and administration of the Shareworks/Solium software, supporting the equity award programs
Human Resources Management
Collaborate with and support the Human Resources team on special projects and other initiatives as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Human Resources designation is considered an asset
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, Wellness, Pensions)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements and resolve complex matters
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess proven operational, interpersonal, project management, vendor management and leadership skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of MS Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality and high discretion
