Job Details

Vice-President Human Resources & Learning

The Candidate

Do people sometimes say you’re like an “HR Yoda” or an “HR whisperer”?  Keep reading, this might be the role for you!

You are a highly accomplished HR & OD executive with a deep background in learning & development.

You bring over 10 years of senior leadership experience in a fast-paced, complex stakeholder operating environment.  You’re used to working with a small staff to accomplish big things.  You love juggling multiple projects that deliver increased organizational capacity.

You’ve been recognized for delivering value as a trusted partner on the senior team.  Your integrity, judgement, HR innovation and strategic capability are recognized by your peers as signature strengths.

The Opportunity

This is an amazing opportunity to put all of your HR & OD knowledge and experiences into practice by leading the HR and member learning functions through transformational change.  If you thrive in building new programs, implementing them and seeing the results flow through to increased organizational productivity, engagement and strengthened culture then this might just be the dream job you’ve been searching for.

The role is really dual mandate: first, run the HR/OD function for the HRPA organization and second, run the member learning (i.e. Professional Development) function across the Association.  HRPA current runs over 200 learning programs a year and our chapters run another 400+.  Modernizing our approach to member learning & professional development is a key external-facing component of the role.

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll partner to strengthen the culture and engagement across HRPA and drive increased value to our staff and members through exemplary people practices.

About HRPA

In 2013 HRPA reached a milestone in elevating the professional status of the HR profession with the passing of the Registered Human Resources Professionals Act. HRPA is the professional regulatory body in a self-regulation environment with over 23,000 registrants.

We are striving to see the profession of HR flourishing as a valued profession.  Our members voluntarily submit to regulation.  They do so because they share a collective belief that HR is a true profession and to be recognized as such on a broad public scale, we need to conduct ourselves with the highest standards of professional practice and constantly prove our value-add to businesses and our client groups as true “professionals”.  Our Rules of Professional Conduct provide guidance on expected conduct and ethics within the HR scope of practice.
