Team & Job Overview

Reporting to the VP HR Advisory Services, and working in a highly collaborative Human Resources environment, this position plays a fundamental role in the human resources service delivery model by leading a team of HR Business Partners with key client facing interactions. Accountable for the implementation of HR programming, the Director, HR Business Partner, will foster a model of collaboration between HR Business Partners and HR centers of expertise (COE) ensuring that clients receive the support required. This role provides business knowledge and insight in the application of HR Advice and frameworks  pertaining to policies, programs and services to support client business objectives in alignment with EDC’s values and corporate priorities. 

Discipline Summary

  • Supports the business by designing, implementing and monitoring a variety of human resource strategies, policies, or programs including, but not limited to: workforce planning, talent management, performance management, development planning and succession planning
  • Ensures human resources programs are delivered in compliance with policies, guidelines, legislation and regulations

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership support in the development and implementation of key corporate and HR initiatives to ensure successful achievement of business goals
  • Leads the performance and skill/career development of assigned staff ensuring the team has adequate capacity and capability to address the needs of the organization
  • Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize performance in own area of accountability
  • Identifies and solves complex, operational and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside own area of accountability
  • Fosters an atmosphere of innovation, teamwork continuous improvement and customer focus

Screening Criteria  

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in human resources management, or related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources management principles and practices
  • Undergraduate Degree in  Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Strong verbal communication skills in both official languages

Salary Range

  • $102,000 - $154,000, plus performance-based incentive
