The Director, People & Culture, is accountable to the Executive Director, People & Culture, and is responsible for designing, planning and implementing key changes within both the HR function as well as the broader OMA organization during a time of transformation.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Support the Executive Director, People & Culture to develop the HR function as a strategic business enabler ensuring that programs and policies align with the organization’s strategies, priorities and culture while focusing on the employee experience;
- Working with the Learning & Development team, develop talent management strategies that support the organization mid to long-term needs including creation and oversight of a formal succession and workforce planning programs;
- Support the Executive Director to champion and manage change initiatives through demonstrated change management processes and principles;
- Working with the Operational and Economics staff develop a people analytics strategy including understanding data capabilities, opportunities, meaningful metrics and creating reports that will enable departments and the organization to make evidence-based decisions that support the organization priorities and longer term needs;
- Identify opportunities to reflect best HR practices, oversee and support development of implementation roadmaps;
- Provide project management oversight to major HR initiatives;
- Provide leadership to HR managers by providing guidance and advice while supporting development and growth as a strategic business partner;
- Participate in the development and support implementation of key strategies including: Employee Value Proposition, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Total Compensation, Employee Engagement and Culture.
EDUCATION
- Masters Degree in Business with a specialization in Human Resource Management or equivalent. Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP/CHRL). PMP designation would be an asset.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership role including significant experience in leading a team of HR professionals through transformative change.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, demonstrated experience with metrics and comprehensive reporting.
- An achievement-oriented practitioner with exposure to varied and diverse organizational environments and experiences.
- A leader with a “best-practices” philosophy coupled with the ongoing pursuit of continuous improvement.
