In this role you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of functions in the School of Nursing, including: human resource planning and management; budget/financial planning and academic resource management; enrolment management and program development; physical resources/facilities planning; and unit policies, procedures and operations. Working under the direction of the Executive Officer in the Faculty of Health, you will act as a policy advisor to the Director, School of Nursing (Director) and executive committee. You will lead, motivate and develop management and staff teams; produce reports, plan and position papers for the School and Dean’s Office; and initiate organizational development/ change management strategies to address structural, cultural and operational needs of the School.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

A University degree. An MBA or other relevant graduate degree is preferred. In addition, you will also bring a minimum 6 years’ senior managerial experience in a university or comparable institutional environment including managing budgets; long-range planning, analysis, policy development, and managing staff in a unionized environment. You will bring a broad understanding of the goals and objectives of a University. Knowledge of the decision-making processes at York University would be an asset.
