CFHI is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team for a 1-year term.

What does a Human Resources Generalist do?

Working closely with the Senior People Specialist, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing human resources support, general advice and direction to staff on human resources policies and programming; to satisfy the current and future needs of its employees; and meet legislative compliance. To achieve this, the HR Generalist will ensure that human resources systems and processes are continuously improving the support provided to staff throughout CFHI.

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent post-secondary education in recognized Human Resources accreditation.
  • Working towards Certified Human Resource Professional designation preferred.
  • Bilingual in French and English is required (English communication skills at Advanced, “C” level and French communication skills at Intermediate, “B” level; Advanced “C” level preferred).
  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in a related position.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to plan and carry out broad assignments, often involving collaborative efforts; ensuring their timely completion.
  • Excellent written communication skills to facilitate policy and program development and achieve program success.
  • Complex problem-solving skills; ability to develop unique solutions; comprehension of highly complex material.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Advanced software skills including automated human resources information systems and MS Office.
  • Tact and diplomacy to deal with internal/ external contacts.
  • High level of confidentiality required.
  • Well organized and attentive to details.
  • Ability to work well in a small, dynamic and highly motivated team.
