Job Title: Recruitment & Retention Manager

Reporting to: Senior Director, Human Resources

Term: Full-Time

Summary:

The Recruitment & Retention Manager will be responsible for developing our recruitment strategy and retaining our top talent through the administration of competitive internal programs. This role will lead our strategic workforce planning initiatives, develop a competitive recruitment strategy through the ideation of a strong Employee Value Proposition and work-through the annual budget and compensation planning through external market reviews and fair internal pay practices. This role reports direct into the Senior Director of Human Resources, no direct reports.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to include knowledge of market dynamics, talent availability and competitive compensation requirements to support Medline Canada
  • Partner with the HR Generalists to screen, test, interview and select qualified job applicants to meet the staffing needs and organizational demands
  • Develop contacts with external networks including training schools and other public organizations to attract job applicants
  • Implement best practices for recruitment processes, reporting and metrics, candidate sourcing, scheduling and on-boarding
  • Organize, schedule and participate in New Hire Orientations, actively supporting managers through the process for consistency of application
  • Monitor and report on effective staff utilization, implement strategic workforce planning practices in collaboration with Senior HR and other executives
  • Oversee the job evaluation program as well as the continuous monitoring of the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Recommend pay plan revisions as well as green-fielding new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and business objectives
  • Analyze annual survey results to provide recommendations for band/range adjustments to ensure internal and external equity
  • Partner with cross-functional senior teams on M&A activities when required, performing due diligence and profitability analysis with an HR lens
  • Perform other duties as assigned

           

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruitment, retention and human resources experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Bachelor’s degree and CHRP/CHRL highly preferred
  • Bi-lingual in French considered an asset
  • M&A experience considered an asset
  • Background in Healthcare recruiting preferred
  • Background in Compensation planning preferred
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong working knowledge of staffing, labor relations, training and staff retention
  • Some advanced analytical skills to adapt and meet some complex or non-routine situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
