The Strategic HR Consultant will intuitively provide guidance to our small business and municipal clients by becoming a trusted advisor, establishing themselves as leaders in their field, understanding the client’s business and key challenges, then providing innovative human relations and business strategy advice.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Analyze client’s operational and strategic direction and needs, provide responsive and customized recommendations that address risks and opportunities. Lead and manage large, complex projects including developing timelines, costing, identifying needed resources and support that will output customized reports, products and services. Manage your own schedule, as well as the satisfaction and expectations of your own clients, travel and make public presentations as needed. Identify business development opportunities and activities by building relationships, networking and developing new services based on client demand or changes in the HR/business context as aligned with the firm’s strategies.
  • Team mentoring and workload support, champion the development of internal and external tools while engaging the team in high quality outputs.
  • Act as a human relations expert, assisting clients with understanding and managing human behavior within the business environment, including supporting conflict resolution and using critical thinking to effectively determine client needs and approaches.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, MBA beneficial. CHRL designation, working towards CHRE. Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operations / strategic / visionary leadership role, previous consulting experience an asset. Able to self-manage in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Expert communicator, both written and verbal, with ability to adapt styles and influence results. Public speaking ability/experience.
  • Lifelong learner that keeps up to date with current HR and business issues as well as all employment-related legislations. Ability to visit clients on-site (use of personal vehicle and must possess valid driver’s license) and potentially outside of working hours as needed i.e. Municipal Council evening meetings.
