Senior Manager, HR Operations will be responsible for a critical area of the HR agenda. As a key member of the HR Leadership Team the successful incumbent will focus on the employee experience, operational excellence and continuous improvement supporting the HR function and our Operators. The Senior Manager will have the unique opportunity to build the HR Service Centre for Canada, will have oversight of HR system implementation and optimization (SAP, KRONOS, Ulti-Pro), as well as updating, developing and implementing standardized HR Policies and Processes across the organization.

This position is covering for a Maternity leave (contract 14 months) and reports in to the Vice President of HR- Aramark Canada. The Senior Manager, HR Operations will have three direct reports. Through continuous improvement and a focus on customer service, this team will ensure all HR Policies, Processes and Programs are administered consistently and effectively across all areas of the business and will provide first level support to our Front Line Managers on people matters.

Key Areas of Focus Will Include

  • Driving continuous improvements and operational efficiencies in HR operations, processes and procedures; design and implement innovative practices, where applicable.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and accurately interpreting, counseling, communicating, and educating HR, Front Line Managers and Senior Leaders on policy and guideline interpretations, as well HR processes and procedures for all aspects of the employee lifecycle within the organization.
  • Acting as the project manager for HR Systems implementations, updates and integrations for new or established systems.
  • Managing the Toronto-based HR Operations teams, providing leadership guidance and support to them. Developing team members and building their skills and expertise, providing feedback and coaching for performance and development and holding the team accountable to deliver against priorities.
  • Following industry trends and best practices with respect to all areas of accountability.

HR Systems

  • Play a key role in SAP implementation for Canada. With the support of a team of subject matter experts, ensure the HRIS (SAP) is configured appropriately to meet the functional needs of the users and the compliance needs of Internal Controls.
  • Provides guidance and oversight for HR systems including current HCMS, future SAP Success Factors and the time and attendance system, KRONOS.
  • Manages the connections between HR systems and HR policies and processes through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Resolves escalated issues or concerns in relations to systems data. Identifies and resolves root causes to common user challenges

HR Service Centre

  • Successful launch of HR Service Centre pilot for Central Canada.
  • Manage the development of process maps, standard operating procedures and knowledge documents
  • Ensure delivery of high quality service within business service level agreements.
  • Build relationships with HR Business Partners to ensure business processes are supporting and meeting requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex and escalated issues and questions.
  • Maintain the Service Now ticket system and report on metrics

HR Policies and Processes

  • Develop, update, improve and implement standardized HR Policies and Processes across the organization.
  • Develop workflow processes to increase effectiveness of HR standards, policies, practices, process and systems.
  • Work with NA HR Centres of Excellence to understand best practices and application in Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, HR designation is an asset.
  • 5+ years of HR management experience in a complex business environment with expertise in the development & administration of HR policies, program, employee relations
  • Experience with HR systems (SAP Success Factors, KRONOS, Ulti-pro)
  • Experience/knowledge working with in HR shared services environment
  • Demonstrated Experience with Project Management
  • Demonstrated Experience in implementing HR technology solutions
  • Experience in people management is an asset
  • Experience challenging the status quo and utilizing innovative thinking and demonstrated analytical problem solving skills;
  • Experience conducting analyses, interpreting information and validating accuracy and relevancy;
  • Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills to resolve business issues from an analytical perspective
  • Take ownership of tasks , support issues and drive them towards resolution
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
