Human Resources Manager

Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the Human Resources Manager is to act as a business partner by embedding company HR strategy and by providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective to add value to the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviours, structures, and processes
  • Drive the people processes (performance, development, and career) to ensure that associates’ level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards
  • Ensure leading and coaching culture is cascaded through the organization
  • Support front line management in forecasting and planning the talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy.
  • Lead the talent acquisition process with line managers to ensure the attraction and attainment of top talent.
  • Facilitate line of sight initiatives to build a high-performing organization aligned with the strategic leadership agenda
  • Provide clear leadership by demonstrating understanding of business trends and needs
  • Manage specific projects as determined by the HR strategy as well as participating in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for associates to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to associates where appropriate
  • Partner on Associate Relations topics and anticipate their needs and concerns
  • Partner with the HR Centre of Excellence to work in synchronization with the other business units
  • Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives to enhance overall business performance
  • Partner on driving the organizational communication strategy and managing all communications to NTD associates
  • Manage associate benefits programs, and regularly review current programs for improvement and cost efficiency opportunities  

Experience that Best Prepares You:

  • University Degree / College Diploma with a specialization in HR Management
  • 5+ years of Human Resources Experience
  • CHRP designation is an asset or Master Degree/MBA  

Key Competencies:

  • Bilingual - both written and spoken French and English
  • Knowledge of provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety Laws & Regulations and other employment law/ legislation within Canada.
  • Motivate, develop, and engage people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
  • Possess knowledge of principles and procedures for talent acquisition, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and human capital information systems
  • Exhibit personal leadership skills
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and opportunities of alternative solutions, conclusions , or approaches to problem
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills – excellent time management skills; can juggle many tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Detail oriented, with ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative.
  • High level of  trust, confidentiality and professionalism

  • Action oriented and a self-starter who is reliable and enjoys challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Power Point, strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in HCM Cloud based technology (Workday preferred)  

Working Conditions:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
