Position:  HR Generalist

Hunter Amenities is looking for a dynamic HR Generalist who wants to make an impact on the culture and day to day operations of our 3 Manufacturing and Warehouse operations. As a member of the operations management team, the HR Generalist will provide support for HR programs focussing on recruitment and retention, employee relations, training and development, payroll and legislative compliance. The HR Generalist will contribute to Hunter’s growth and continued success by building positive relationships throughout the organization demonstrating strong work ethic and the ability to roll up your sleeves and have a real impact in our fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and hands-on ownership of HR processes for plant and warehouse locations from full-cycle recruiting and on-boarding, performance management through to the exit interview
  • Provide advice to managers on employee relations issues, including attendance management, conflict management and the progressive discipline process
  • Improve supervisor and team member performance by coaching and counseling leaders and team members, promoting a team environment and open communications
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization to understand the business needs and deliver effective and efficient HR practices
  • Research, recommend and implement HR related policies and procedures for the sites, keeping up to date with new or changing legislation
  • Manage hourly wage scale administration including regular review and adjustment
  • Track and report key HR related KPIs including turnover, open positions and labour hours
  • Actively build an integrated business partnership and strong link with the direction of the business
  • Payroll administration including full-cycle weekly processing of hourly payroll, including associated basic financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Along with H&S Manager and the Operations team, ensure that all safety policies and procedures are adhered to by all employees (both hourly and salaried)

Must Haves:

  • 5 years' experience in Human Resources; including responsibility for employee relations, recruitment, benefits, payroll, time and attendance and training in a manufacturing environment
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred
  • Solid knowledge of the provincial and federal Employment Standards, WSIB and Human Rights legislation
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Energetic and adaptable, willing to roll up their sleeves and work collaboratively
  • Strong conflict resolution and influencing skills with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
  • Experience using ADP
