Senior Manager of Organizational Development and Learning

Metrolinx is undertaking the largest transportation investment in Ontario’s history to get you where you need to go better, faster, easier, while also operating GO Transit, UP Express and PRESTO. In partnership with the Provincial Government, regions and municipalities, we’re building a seamless, integrated and sustainable transportation network to serve the GTHA now, and into the future.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Talent Management and working in partnership with colleagues across the organization, the Senior Manager, Organizational Development (OD) and Learning is responsible for developing, analyzing and delivering innovative solutions to build and enhance Metrolinx’s talent capabilities.

Our ideal candidate is an OD professional who is passionate about creating metrics dashboards and reports while helping drive the execution of innovative learning solutions. You will provide senior functional and strategic leadership to enterprise-wide talent management programs and extensive reporting services with an aim to contribute toward Metrolinx’s “Best Place to Work” strategy. A service-focused, transformational, thought leader, you are adept at building best practices that cultivate a high-performance culture. You will play a part in the creation and delivery of comprehensive and effective talent programs in the areas of: organization development, leadership development, succession planning, performance management and recognition.

As Senior Manager of Organizational Development and Learning, you’ll play a key part in the design and integration of a framework to identify key individual performance capabilities (i.e. tasks, activities, competencies, attributes and results) and translate its application into exceptional business performance. Your inclusive and engaging leadership style will enable successful partnerships with the business in building and developing a competent and productive workforce. Cognizant of the relationship between strong talent management and business success, you’ll contribute to organizational effectiveness at a systems level through continual examination and alignment of organizational structures and design at the enterprise level, as well as through career planning, feedback programs and individual growth programs.

You are a confident and persuasive communicator, public speaker and report writer able to inform and influence executives at all levels of the organization while educating and influencing other leaders and stakeholders regarding talent development initiatives.

Your critical thinking and superior writing skills enable you to synthesize data and present your findings confidently to executives and Board members. You welcome the opportunity to develop client-focused talent management solutions using your stakeholder management and project management skills, enabling you to manage multiple projects, evaluate stakeholder performance, while successfully leading and executing on talent management projects and initiatives.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources or a related discipline/equivalent. This is complemented by approximately 15 years’ experience in key areas of talent management, including ideally, 10 years in a leadership capacity. A Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset. This senior role will also benefit from your knowledge of relevant Canadian HR legislation.
