Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of functions including: Time and Attendance, Payroll, Employee Relations, Full Cycle Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits.

Duties

  • Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll
  • Time and Attendance Tracking
  • Respond to employee and government inquiries relating to payroll
  • Ensure the creation and timely distribution of T4’s and Records of Employment
  • Manage company pension and employee benefit program
  • Acts as first point of contact for employees on all day-to-day HR-related inquiries
  • Collect, analyze and summarize data for HR tracking and reporting purposes
  • Supports annual performance management process
  • Assists in the coordination of training events and training grant applications
  • Works with HR team to participate in full-cycle recruitment activities
  • Update intranet site as required by corporate in relation to HR department
  • Communicate and coordinate offers of employment with appropriate parties
  • Coordinate and conduct on-boarding of new hires
  • Manage employee vacation and banked time entitlements
  • Provide Human Resources support to Human Resource Management team
  • May be required to perform other duties, research and projects

Skills and Experience

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience working as an HR Generalist
  • Payroll experience a must
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
  • CHRP designation required
  • JHSC certification and experience an asset
  • Knowledge of ESA legislation/Human Rights
  • Working knowledge of WSIB
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Highly efficient and organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Deadline centric
