DUTIES:

This position is responsible for providing efficient, accurate and highly confidential support and coordination to the Manager, Human Resource Services and to the department.  The incumbent is proactive and takes initiative in duties relating to labour relations, grievances, human resources, committees arising out of the Collective Agreements, budgets, providing appropriate advice and information to clients, and performing other human resources functions as required.  The incumbent supports the confidential recruitment function with job postings, advising on shortlisting, recommending appropriate testing, and providing advice with respect to the Collective Agreements as they relate to the recruitment process.  The incumbent also provides information to staff and the public on matters relating to Human Resource Services in a professional manner.  This position is key for the overall coordination of areas of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Two (2) year diploma Office Administrative - Executive.
  • Five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in an environment where collaborative union relationships are encouraged.
  • Previous experience in a busy office environment where multi-tasking is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
