West Park Healthcare Centre helps patients get their lives back by providing inpatient, outpatient and outreach services in specialized rehabilitative and complex care after a life-altering illness or injury such as lung disease, amputation, stroke, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.  By 2021, West Park’s 27-acre site will be transformed into an integrated campus of care, including a new hospital building and additional community supports such as assisted living for persons with disabilities and seniors.  This transformation enables the Centre to evolve its rehabilitative programs and strengthen links to community-based services to meet the future healthcare needs of our local community and the province.

Qualifications:

  • 3-year community college program in computer sciences, business administration or related field
  • Bachelors degree computer sciences or other related field preferred
  • Human resources certificate an asset
  • Workforce planning certification preferred
  • Knowledge of health and safety and human resources
  • Experience working with various computer software programs
  • Experience creating reports and charts that turn raw data into useful insights
  • Knowledge of data extraction and analysis software such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, etc.
  • Strong ability to build databases using software such as Excel and Access
  • Ability to create detailed spreadsheets and charts
  • Advanced computer skills especially with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Good research analytical abilities
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Working knowledge of health and safety and human resources metrics preferred
  • Evidence of satisfactory attendance record
  • An employee’s disciplinary record will be reviewed as part of the assessment of qualifications
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the centre’s core values and helps patients get their life back
  • Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors

 

 

Accountabilities:

  • Support the development and collection of a human resources data repository (i.e. turnover, retirements, occupational and non-occupational illness, influenza immunization statistics and return to work programs) as an organization and by department/units.
  • Establish protocols to ensure ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of human resources metrics, scorecard and/or dashboard.
  • Development and issuance of key reports (monthly, quarterly and yearly) to human resource leads and department/unit managers.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of a Human Resources and  Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness Scorecard and department specific workforce planning metrics  by developing standardizing tools, templates and reports.
  • Assists with the development of human resource analytics utilizing Excel and other programs to assist with decision making and workforce planning.
  • Participate in discussions with various human resource or health, safety and wellness team members or other West Park stakeholders to understand key issues
  • Provide data analysis support for ongoing and adhoc requests in support of HR and OHSW projects
  • Support key HR workforce planning projects through the development of standardized tools and templates.
  • Develop and report on key human resource strategy outcome indicators
  • Maintain confidentiality due to access to employee personal data and health and safety data
  • Support the development & maintenance of a health and safety wellness calendar
  • Performs related work as required
