THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director of People & Culture is accountable for ensuring Entuitive is rooted in its purpose and aligned with its vision, mission, and values while actively building and promoting a One Company culture. This role actively fosters the Entuitive culture through its people, while ensuring expectations of both management and employees are understood and met. 

THE TEAM

The Director of People and Culture will work closely with the following peers on the leadership team:

•             Director, Business Development

•             Director, Operations

•             Director, Marketing

•             Director, Finance

Reporting directly and indirectly to the Director of People & Culture are:

•             P&C Manager

•             Talent Acquisition/Generalist (Toronto)

•             Talent Acquisition/Generalist (Calgary)

•             Generalist

•             Coordinator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the management team and reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of People & Culture contributes to the development of business strategy and is accountable for determining and overseeing initiatives related to employee engagement, rewards and recognition, leadership development, and strategic workforce planning. 

Culture

  • Ensure that all people and culture activities are consistent with and in support of Entuitive’s purpose, values, and culture.
  • Ensure prioritization and oversee implementation of consistent Talent practices throughout the organization in alignment with global business strategy and cohesion with Entuitive’s values, vision, mission and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of an employee brand that is in support of Entuitive’s purpose and aligned with the values and culture.
  • Strong experience leading and developing a team of committed employees in a global environment with cultural differences.
  • Contribute to the development of a responsive organizational design strategy and oversee its continual evolution.
  • Develop strategies that promote diversity and inclusion across the firm.

Employee Engagement

  • Develop and evaluate employee engagement through formal and informal processes, establish practices to reduce turnover and ensure high employee morale.
  • Develop continual performance management processes ensuring clarity and consistency for an effective an equitable evaluation process.
  • Develop employee development strategies with the goal of the highest-level contribution and personal fulfillment.
  • Develop employee-related policies and procedures, providing guidance and clarity with respect to interpretation and application.
  • Oversee the resolution of problems impacting the ability of employees to work effectively including employee conflicts, performance issues, or misconduct including recommendations for corrective action.

Rewards & Recognition

  • Develop strategies to ensure that compensation, rewards, incentives, mobility and recognition programs are competitive, sustainable, and scalable.
  • Ensure that rewards and recognition strategies support Entuitive’s short and long-term strategic goals and that they promote our culture.
  • Develop an ongoing understanding of market trends in compensation and recognition to ensure market competitiveness and internal fairness.

Leadership Development & Succession

  • Ensure that the coaching and mentorship culture at Entuitive is fostered through programs and processes to promote development learning throughout the organization.
  • Oversee the succession planning process, identify future successors to key roles and ensure action plans address any experience or knowledge gaps in order to successfully fulfill the role.
  • Determine and evaluate key leadership capabilities and ensure programs/plans/resources are available to meet personal development objectives, and current/future business needs of the leadership team.

Strategic Workforce Planning

  • Contribute to and support the business strategy and associated change management efforts.
  • Plan and execute strategic leadership and growth initiatives aligned with future lines of business and emerging markets.
  • Determine integration plans required to support growth strategies and cultural continuity through merger and acquisition transactions.
  • Lead the solutions design of an innovative and integrated talent management strategy in collaboration with HR, Business, and Corporate Leaders globally.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance employee experience and improve productivity by leveraging digital technology to support key Talent processes.

THE PERSON

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in business management, human resources, organizational development, or a combination of these or other relevant fields. HR Certification would be an asset.
  • 10+ years progressive experience including strategic and leadership roles.Preferably with some experience outside of Canada.
  • Experience and/or aptitude for working in and developing an agile or responsive organization.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a global team of professionals.
  • Possess a natural entrepreneurial style which is more aligned to “can do” than being policy-focused with gate keeping approach.
  • Strong experience leading and developing a team of committed employees in a growing global environment with cultural differences.
  • Ability to successfully balance and intertwine the people and business agendas.
  • Proven ability to drive change and influence adoption of new ideas and digital technology.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills to both internal and external audiences.
  • Expert consulting skills with ability to build collaborative, trustworthy relationships at the most senior levels in the organization.
  • Ability to travel as required.

  • COLLABORATIVE: Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks both internally and externally.
  • COMMUNICATION: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
