Function Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll, the Classification and Compensation Officer is responsible for ensuring the organization is in compliance with the regulations and laws as they relate to classification and compensation; oversees the job evaluation process and salary administration for all employee groups; coordinates salary and other pay increases; reviews job descriptions and prepares salary scales; provides advice on the resolution of classification and salary complaints; provides recommendations to management on classification and related compensation matters.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Human Resources) or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
- Three (3) years of compensation and classification-related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Advanced knowledge of human resources policies and procedures and specifically including compensation and classification principles, methodologies and practices.
- Experience and strong knowledge working with a Human Resources Information System and HR data analytics.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computer applications and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial employment related legislation including the area of pay equity.
