<p>MacEwen Petroleum Inc is a privately owned petroleum wholesaler and convenience company which has been in business since 1976.</p> <p>The company is enjoying robust growth and development and to support this we are adding to the HR and Payroll team.</p> <p>The small HR & Payroll Team supports 240 employees working from 13 divisional offices from Stratford to Timmins to Cornwall.</p> <p>The range of HR & Payroll services is hosted in-house from the MacEwen head office in Maxville, Ontario.</p> <p>______________________________________________________________________________</p> <p>Role Summary:</p> <p>This full-time role splits time between human resources activities, recruitment, benefit administration and acting as back-up for payroll processing.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><u>Recruitment and Selection</u></p> <p>This includes working with in partnership with Managers to identify and respond to talent acquisition and recruitment processes.</p> <ul> <li>Guides Managers and actively participates in the recruitment and selection process, which includes the elements of: <ul> <li>Posts opportunities to the sites proven to drive quality applications.</li> <li>Undertakes preliminary shortlisting, telephone interviews.</li> <li>Sets up interviews in discussion with Managers.</li> <li>Maintains competition files and correspond with candidates.</li> <li>Attends and leading, when required, the interview process.</li> <li>Obtains references.</li> <li>Arranges pre-employment tests.</li> <li>Assigns training classes and add new employees to employee portal</li> <li>Prepares letters of response.</li> <li>Assists the Director, HR in the preparation of offers of employment.</li> <li>Works with Managers to prepare consistent on-boarding standards.</li> <li>Manages the 8-week performance review process.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><u>Human Resources Administration</u></p> <ul> <li>Maintains confidential employee files, in paper and electronic format.</li> <li>Updates employee payroll and benefit data as required.</li> <li>Assists with health and wellness programs, the employee newsletter and communications.</li> <li>Creates employee correspondence when required.</li> </ul> <p><u>Benefits Administration</u></p> <ul> <li>Administering the various benefits and RRSP plans offered to employees.</li> <li>Delivering presentations to enrol new employees.</li> </ul> <p><u>Payroll</u></p> <ul> <li>Acts as back-up for the company’s bi-weekly pay process. This will include data entry and training new users on the self-service system.</li> <li>Consults with employees and resolving queries regarding time reporting, employee time off and benefits.</li> <li>Initiates, analyses and balances internal/external reporting documentation such as salaries and benefits. </li> </ul> <p><u>Other</u></p> <ul> <li>Attends classes and training as required.</li> <li>Participates on the H&S Committee.</li> <li>Undertakes research for new legislation, policies and projects.</li> <li>Any other duties which may reasonably be required.</li> </ul> <p> </p>
