HR Manager

Summary of the Position

The HR Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Management to enhance the Clubs Human Resources by developing, implementing and evaluating policies, systems, programs, practices and employee relations. You will act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries as well as provide coaching and advice to internal teams on Human Resources solutions and best practices to achieve business goals. The HR Manager will also be tasked with overseeing and executing payroll and benefits programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support current and future business needs through the development and execution of HR strategies and initiatives that align with the Club’s overall business, ensuring legal compliance in all aspects
  • Direct, manage and execute the full cycle recruitment process, working with and maintaining open communication with internal departments to guarantee efficiency and legal compliance
  • Assess, oversee and manage employee onboarding, orientation and training for new hires
  • Bridge management and employees through nurturing a positive environment, addressing employee relations, coaching and mentoring
  • Implement and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Maintain a centralized employee data base for HR metrics, reporting and communications
  • Manage and execute payroll and benefits programs
  • Develop and manage a performance appraisal process that aligns with business needs and drives high performance
  • Oversee and manage the Joint Health and Safety Committee and components to ensure best practices and legal compliance
  • Plan and organize staff events

Must Have:

  • Relevant Education
  • 2-4 Years of Experience
  • Knowledge of Government Legislation including Employment Standards Acts, Human Rights Code, WSIB, Occupational Health and Safety Act, AODA
  • Working knowledge of HR Administration, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Performance Management and Employee Relations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills; MS Office, email, internet, Ceridian PowerPay and Dayforce
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees and management
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
