To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Human Resources Manager to support our KDN teams in Peterborough, Courtice, Lindsay and Cobourg.

The HR Manager, reporting to the COO will support the firm’s teams to develop and implement a Talent strategy that is aligned to deliver on the firm’s business goals.

Your Responsibilities Include
As an HR leader in our growing firm, you will collaborate with the partners and staff to execute people strategies to help our team succeed.

  • Recruits strong talent in a collaborative approach to support the business needs of the firm.
  • Develops, monitors and ensures HR policies, processes and standards are followed.
  • Provides guidance and hands on support to the teams in implementing HR programs and processes (e.g. compensation planning, ratings and promotions, employee surveys).
  • Maintains HR systems and team documentation as required.
  • Participates as Trusted Advisor in maintaining ESA standards.
  • Regularly monitors the effectiveness of HR programs, processes and services, and raises concerns, and provides feedback to the COO and Managing Partner to drive continuous improvement based on business needs, including participation in annual compensation survey.
  • Attends firm termination meetings.
  • Supports four office locations and multiple teams, as required, remotely and in person.
  • Solicits, analyzes and interprets employee feedback results for the firm. Develops and implements related action plans and communications.
  • Actively participates in and leads employee engagement events and activities.
  • Advisor to the COO and/or Managing Partner on talent related matters.
  • Collaborates with COO to implement and monitor the effectiveness of BT national strategic People Solutions initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the COO to implement talent strategies and plans aligned with business needs.
  • Supports change management across the firm.
  • Assists in the design and execution of orientations and talent training sessions.
  • Manages the Health & Safety programs of the firm, including delivery of required training.
  • Discerns insights and trends from information and data, and leverages them to identify opportunities for change that will deliver value and impact to the business.
  • Supports leaders in creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. Identifies opportunities to embed accessibility, diversity and inclusion in local processes and programs.
  • Shares information about key learnings, successes, challenges, and best practices across the firm and within the BT HR Network.
  • Participates on national HR project teams.

Role Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and post-secondary diploma or certificate in HR.
  • A CHRP or CHRL designation.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced, corporate environment.
  • Strong recruiting and people skills.
  • A strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities for multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel and work across 4 regional offices: Peterborough, Courtice, Cobourg and Lindsay.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal clients, gain credibility, challenge the norm and be viewed as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Self-starter who identifies problems and suggests solutions naturally.
  • Highly proficient with PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
