The story of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is a tale of continued innovation, remarkable expansion and a single-minded dedication to the highest of standards.  The Canadian-based company has, for more than 60 years, transformed the hospitality industry by combining the core principles of quality, service, brand, and culture with the finest traditions and highest standards.  With headquarters in Toronto and over 50,000 employees globally, Four Season operates 115 hotels and resorts and 38 residential properties across 46 countries.  Throughout its history, Four Seasons has boldly redefined luxury for the modern traveler and is known globally as the leader in luxury hospitality.  Looking forward, Four Seasons is poised for continued expansion with 50+ projects in planning/development globally. To support and drive its ambitious growth objectives, Four Seasons is seeking an outstanding leader to join their People and Culture team in the newly established Director, Leadership Programming role to help define and drive the leadership development vision/strategy and to develop, deliver and continuously improve branded leadership programming.

Based in Toronto, reporting to the Vice President Learning & Development and serving as a member of the global People and Culture leadership team, the Director Leadership Programming works with an energetic and highly effective team of 6 learning professionals and helps direct 100+ global learning professionals in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of a broad portfolio of onboarding and leadership development programming.  After taking the time to understand the Four Seasons business and culture, the Director leads a comprehensive qualitative/quantitative needs analysis and partners with the VP Learning & Development to establish a compelling leadership programming vision and a supporting multi-year plan.  Leveraging her/his deep expertise, the Director Leadership Programming determines when to build leadership programs internally, when to acquire and rebrand external programs, and when to collaborate with external experts to develop custom content.  She/he develops a leadership programming delivery model for a global, multicultural audience and establishes evaluation mechanism to ensure program quality, effectiveness, ROI, and continuous improvement.

The ideal Director Leadership Programming is a recognized leadership/executive development expert who brings a Bachelor’s degree in business, education, psychology, human resources or a related field.  A related Master’s degree and additional accreditation in instructional design and coaching is highly valued.  She/he has exceptional operational and strategic leadership programming capability gained through 10+ years of focused experience in the learning and development functions of best-in-class global organizations, preferably including roles in the fast-paced service industry.  Ideally multi-lingual, she/he has driven leadership development innovation and continuous improvement in different sectors with best-in-class global organizations, transformed practices over multiple years, and can point to the positive impact of her/his work on business performance and organization culture.  An exceptional relationship-builder with high emotional intelligence, the Director Leadership Programming builds the credibility to respectfully challenge the status quo and gain support for new ideas.  The Director Leadership Programming is an experienced people leader, coach and mentor who can motivate and empower a team during a period of change.  Well-networked in the leadership development community, she/he can select optimal vendor partners, negotiate effective terms, manage delivery, and develop collaborative relationships that provide insight to emerging trends and best practices.

Four Seasons is a much-admired, global organization with a commitment to exceptional guest and employee experience.  The Director Leadership Programming role is an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional leadership development expert to have a positive impact on all employees around the globe from their first day on the job and throughout their entire journey with Four Seasons.
