The Superior-Greenstone District School Board is seeking an individual with proven managerial and leadership skills in the area of Human Resources.  We are a small school district that prides itself on building positive places for learning and working in a collaborative environment.  We believe in quality programs and service delivery to ensure an outstanding and rewarding experience for our students.

The Manager of Human Resource Services is a key position within the Superior-Greenstone District School Board’s leadership team (non-union).  The Manager of Human Resource Services will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, direction and effective management of human resource service functions in support of the Boards’ vision, mission, values and strategic directions.  Knowledge and expertise based on experience in the areas of policy development, effective recruitment and selection, training and development, employee and labour relations (including the interpretation and administration of collective agreements), absence and claims support programs, and Human Resource Information Systems will be required.  The successful candidate will also provide the support necessary to the Payroll Department.  A defined philosophy of service excellence and service delivery, along with proven leadership capabilities in collective agreements, administration, bargaining and negotiations, collaborative decision-making and team building are necessary skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

·      University/College Degree(s) in a related field (e.g., Labour/Industrial Relations, Law Degree with a focus on employment law);

·      Proven experience in labour relations/human resources, and payroll legislation;

·      Outstanding communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills;

·      Successful experience in strategic planning and implementation;

·      Ability to provide guidance, thinking and visioning at a strategic level;

·      Demonstrated skills in mediation, problem-solving and conflict resolution;

·      Highly developed customer service, coaching, interpersonal and presentation/facilitation skills;

·      Successful supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring and team building skills;

·      Ability to promote equitable practices which value inclusiveness and diversity;

·      Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing;

·      Successful experience in a public sector, multi-union environment preferred;

·      Experience in collective bargaining and contract administration;

·      CHRP/CHRL designation preferred.

This is a full-time managerial position within Superior-Greenstone District School Board’s Administrative Management group that includes a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary Range:    $103,512 to $107,739 (The starting salary will be commensurate with the established qualifications and experience for the position).

                 Superior-Greenstone District School Board Learning Centre located in Red Rock, Ontario
