The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is made up of a team of experts who understand local communities and assess every property in Ontario. Here’s what you will do as part of the team:

  • Provide guidance, advice and training to management and HR team members, ensuring consistent application of the collective agreement and provide conflict resolution support.
  • Support and coach managers on performance management, succession planning, employee development and resolution of business and employees concerns.
  • Conduct investigations pertaining to Code of Conduct violations and any other corporate or legislated policy violations.
  • Maintain an ongoing positive relationship with union representatives to exchange information and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Responsible for administering and maintaining an Attendance/Disability Management program and associated policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with medical advisors and specialists as required to identify issues and develop recommendations/return to work and job accommodation agreements as appropriate.
  • Assist with resolving violations of the Corporation’s Workplace Discrimination, Harassment, Violence and Prevention policy.
  • Lead the implementation of organizational design and/or restructuring initiatives.
  • Build relationships with managers to understand their recruitment needs and participate in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.
  • Contribute to the design, maintenance, and enhancement of the strategic workforce planning model.

 

Here’s what you will need to succeed:

  • University Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or other relevant discipline.
  • Combination of 5 to 7 years’ experience in labour relations and human resources.
  • Strong track record of achieving high results.
  • Ability to understand business priorities, issues and people impacts. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and build multiple partnerships.
  • Excellent writing, problem-solving and analytical skills to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and ability to influence skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office Suite applications:  Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
  • Travel to Field Offices throughout Ontario when required.

Nice to have:

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or in the process of obtaining.
  • Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, or in the process of obtaining.
